Common Keys
Independent Service Keys
An independent service key allows the user to bypass hall buttons and keeps the doors from closing automatically. This could prevent potential injury or damage while moving equipment on or off the elevator.
Independent Service Keys are Group 2 security available for authorized personal use only as required by ASME A17.1/CSA B44.
Fire Service Keys
A fire service key is activated during emergency or fire in the building. All elevators provided with Emergency Fire Operation shall be subjected to monthly testing by authorized personnel (ASME A17.1-2016 section 8.6.11.1).
Fire Service Keys are Group 3 security available for emergency, authorized & elevator personal use only as required by ASME A17.1/CSA B44.
